Moderator: Fifteen episodes later… where are we?
*Around the table are an Orthodox theologian, a Catholic bishop, a Protestant pastor, and Jamie holding snacks.*
Orthodox Rep: We’ve preserved the ancient rhythms… but sometimes we’ve acted like we invented the truth.
Jamie: You mean, like spiritual copyright?
Orthodox Rep: We’ve had moments of pride. But we never stopped praying for the others.
Catholic Rep: We’ve held the Church together through centuries of chaos… but we’ve also wounded with power.
Jamie: You mean like... excommunicating entire continents?
Catholic Rep: And sometimes forgetting the mercy we were meant to offer.
Protestant Rep: We rediscovered grace… but also multiplied division. We tore down idols — and sometimes beauty.
Jamie: And invented fog machines.
Protestant Rep: Yes. That too.
Moderator: So… do you all agree now?
All Together (laughing): No!
Orthodox Rep: We still disagree on many things.
Catholic Rep: But we’ve stopped trying to win.
Protestant Rep: And we’ve started learning to listen.
Moderator: Maybe the goal isn’t to erase our differences… but to outgrow the need to burn each other for them.
Jamie: So we’re like siblings with wildly different opinions… who finally agreed to show up at the same table?
Moderator: Exactly. And that’s the beginning of communion.
