What I came to believe was not the story where
God offered His Son to satisfy His wrath.
What I came to believe was this:
God sent His Son to rescue all.
In the West, theology often centers on atonement, wrath, and divine justice.
But in the East—in the Orthodox Church—it’s different.
Christ didn’t die to appease the Father’s anger.
He came to destroy death.
To liberate those held captive.
To descend into hell and bring us back.
That realization changed how I saw God.
Not because God had become kinder—
but because I was finally seeing Him as He really is.
So I stopped debating.
And I started praying.
This gospel wasn’t something to win arguments with.
It was something to kneel before.
